Maintenance schedule
- N.B start both generators and make all breakers on arrival to enable following routine to be carried out.
Exterior
Anchor windlass
- Check oil level monthly
- Motor in both directions by disengaging clutch
- Release band brake ensuring clutch engaged. Inch windlass in both directions under power, re-apply band brake
- Apply wash water for 5 seconds
- Inspect condition of anchor chain and chain locker
- Inspect locker hatch for correct operation and ease of movement
Windscreen wipers
- Check security of fastenings
- Check condition of wiper blades
- Test and re-aim washers as reqd
- Test operation of wipers
Side - stern doors, and hatchways
- Test smooth operation of lock
- Clean and lubricate rollers and sliding bolts as reqd
- Inspect door seal for deterioration and make a water test
- Check for correct operation of bolts and hinges
- Check operation and condition of hatch and combing
Waists and cockpit
- Check operation of lights and inspect integrity of covers
- Check scuppers clear, deck connections free and seals correct
- Test operation of windlasses
- Test operation of washdown hose
- Test local and remote control operation of passarelle and lights. Check ropes and teak for damage and lubricate runners as reqd
- Open garage door, inspect hinges for security and corrosion. Test lights and winch. Clean rear roller and deck as reqd
- Pull Jet Ski or dingui out into water but leave attached to winch. Carry out engine checks iaw manual and start engine. Test operation of gears and throttle, steering, and kill switch. Clean as reqd
- Check smooth operation of lazarette door and check hinges for security and corrosion
- Test operation of cable spoolers and check seal in caps
- Inspect and clean cushions
- Check the condition and function of the cupboard doors, chest lids and storage places
- Control water and fuel filler necks. Check their open and close properly and are leak proof

- Check bow thrusters oil level, condition of motor, water seal and ensure switch operates
- Check for leaks on the shaft and the rudder seals.
Basis trial
- ENSURE BOAT IS TIED FIRMLY ALONGSIDE AND THERE ARE NO FOULING HAZARD
- IN THE VACINITY BEFORE PROCEEDING.
- Ensure there is at least 1 generator running on load
- Ensure all AC and DC breakers are on
- Ensure main engine checks have been carried out

- Start engines from main control position allow to idle
- Switch on GPS, check boats position and record ...............................
- Switch on VHF and monitor channel16
- Switch radar to standby
- Check engines idling at 600 rpm +1- 100
- Check gearbox oil pressure

- Allow engines to Run at 1000 rpm for 5 mins
- Set engines to 1500 rpm for 30 secs
- Set engines to 2000 rpm for 10 secs
- Set throttles to neutral 600 rpm
- Run trim tabs through full range of movement and set to 0 degrees
- Put radar to XMIT for 1 min, check paint through all ranges, set to standby
- Switch on bow thruster and apply in both directions allowing 10 seconds between bursts
- Set auto pilot to auto, change course using + 1, -1, + 10, -10 and note rudder response
- Set auto pilot to standby and swing helm manually through full range twice and set midships
- Check depth sounder working correctly
- Check helmseat through full range of movement
- Check camera in ER and cockpit working
- Test lamps and note any not working
- Test bilge pumps

- Test nav lights, instrument lights, anchor lights and aux lights

- Stop main engines and proceed to flybridge where gearbox test and autopilot checks must be carried out

General
- Check condition and readiness of fire extinguishers, fire hoses and other safety equipment
- Check the shore power lines are OK
- Check the battery charger on all battery banks. Check that he operate with the shore power.
- Ensure all lights off, all gash landed, portholes and windows closed, hatches secured and locked. Proceed to main panel, switch off all breakers from the bottom up, stop all running generators, note engine and generator hours and switch off service batteries.
- Lock doors, retract passerelle, check ropes secured, cushions stowed and fenders present and correct.
